Iranian youth declared the shortest person in the world


Tehran: A 20-year-old man from Iran has won the Guinness World Record for the shortest person in the world.

Afshin Ismail Ghaderzadeh from a village in the West Azerbaijan province of Iran has been confirmed by Guinness World Records to be 2 feet and 1.6 inches tall.

Afshin Ismail's parents said that when Afshin was born, his weight was only 680 grams, but now his weight is 6.4 kg.

Speaking about his height, Afshin Ismail said, "I know who is the tallest person in the world." I might fall into his palm.

Afshin, who faces difficulties in finding employment due to his short stature, said he is hopeful that his fame will help him support his family.

The record was previously held by 36-year-old Edward 'Nino' Hernandez from Colombia.
